Artist Nacho Diaz believes that many villains would be different people if they got some love. And… that’s a pretty fair assessment for most of them. So he decided to have the heroes in their stories give them great big hugs! And the result is adorable.
For real, it’s unbearably cute.
Pretty sure that Ursula would have let Ariel keep her voice if this had happened. (Note: That is 100% incorrect, I do not assume that at all.):

Kylo doesn’t really deserve hugs at the moment, but Rey is pretty great at taking the high ground either way:

Dozens of these illustrations are going to be assembled into an art book titled Villains Need Love! Diaz has already backed the project on Kickstarter, and you can take a look at more of the sketches on Bored Panda.
Bender wasn’t a villain.
Deadpool is perfect.
I wouldn’t consider NoFace to be a villain.
And Bender is Fry’s best friend, how is he a villain?
I want Kaladin or Adolin hugging Szeth.
@1 and @3
For some, I’m reading this more as an “antagonist” relationship, which is close enough; Bender and No Face might not be up to the level of the Joker in terms of villainy, but they definitely cause problems for the protagonists that are hugging them. To quote Fry himself, re: Bender, “I know he was evil and on more than one occasion he actually stole my blood…”
@5 TorSarah, yeah, but on multiple occasions, Bender has also said that Fry is the only human he won’t kill. Bender isn’t a ‘good guy’, but putting him in a book called Villians Need Love is not right either.
Where was this when I was a child? When I thought I was the only one in the world who believed villains neeed love, but before I was of an age to get jealous of other charactwrs for hugging them. I don’t object to the ones portrayed here, though.
Edit: I shouldn’t have clicked the link. Let go of Gollum, you little scoundrel! He’s MINE!
OK, the others made it worthwhile. Especially Han & Jabba.
@1 ‘Bender wasn’t a villain.’
Don’t tell him that.
